What is Part A?

Medicare Part A is your Hospital Insurance:

  • Inpatient Care in Hospitals

  • Skilled Nursing Facility Care

  • Hospice Care

  • Home Healthcare

Please note, if you are receiving benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board, you will automatically be enrolled into Medicare Part A the first day of the month you turn 65. Medicare Part A will be premium-free for most Americans because they, or their spouse, paid Medicare taxes throughout their career.
